Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, a pillar of Parisian luxury and culture, has transformed into a literary and artistic sanctuary under the guidance of Sarah Andelman, the co-founder of colette, and the visual pen of Jean Jullien.
The exhibition “Mise En Page”, which opened its doors from February 24 to April 21, is a celebration of the book universe, orchestrated with passion and ingenuity.
Upon entering the iconic precincts of Le Bon Marché, visitors are invited on a journey through spaces redefined as “chapters”, each telling a unique story about the world of publishing and literature.
With “Just an Idea Books”, the publishing house founded by Andelman, and the playful and whimsical illustrations by Jean Jullien, this exhibition is less a series of rooms than a series of narrations.
Sarah Andelman, curator and editor, has always had a soft spot for bookstores around the world, unconventional artists, and emerging talents.
She shares this passion through an eclectic collection that reflects her travels and discoveries.
For the occasion, Le Bon Marché welcomed renowned bookstores such as Shakespeare & Co and Ofr. in Paris, Cow Books in Tokyo, The Strand, and Pillow Cat Books in New York, offering collectible merchandise.

The first floor is dedicated to “Just an Idea Books and Friends”, where Andelman highlights the work of photographers like Charles Bebert and RK, furniture by Aline Asmar d’Amman, and creations by Inès Melia.
Five new books, published under Andelman’s direction, were also launched exclusively.

But it is on the second floor that Jean Jullien comes to life with his “Paper People” and his brand NouNou. Known for his 2D characters, Jullien has already made his mark in cities like Tokyo and Seoul, and now, he animates the windows of Rue de Sèvres.
The space is shared with the café-grocery Phamily First, where visitors can discover new collaborations of the illustrator with brands such as Rhodia and Caran d’Ache.

The love for books extends down to the ground floor where Andelman has gathered her favorite bookstores.
In addition, the most sought-after editions take place, revealing exclusive and must-see collaborations.
The beauty section is also included, with olfactory creations that evoke literature, and in jewelry, the alphabet is adorned with sparkling jewels.
Le Bon Marché and Andelman have also planned a series of signings, meetings, and conversations, allowing the public to dive deeper into the world of creators and their works.

It’s an invitation to get “up to date”, both literally and figuratively.
This exhibition “Mise En Page” is eloquent proof that even in a digital world, paper and ink still have the capacity to amaze, inspire, and bring people together.

By combining art, literature, and design, Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche offers an unforgettable experience that redefines the concept of cultural shopping and breathes new life into the tradition of the Parisian bookstore.
