Paris is about to be dazzled by a spectacular fusion of haute couture and classical ballet with “Danced Night and Roman Night”, scheduled from April 26 to 28, 2024.

The Ballet of the Rome Opera, adorned in sumptuous creations by Dior, will take the stage at the Palais des Congrès for a series of breathtaking performances.

Under the choreography of the renowned Giorgio Mancini and led by star Eleonora Abbagnato, “Danced Night” is intended as a tribute to the combined virtuosity of the Rome Opera Ballet and Dior’s workshops.

The show promises to weave a story that celebrates the compositions of American composer Philip Glass, with a particular focus on his Piano Concerto.

Mancini’s choreography commits to preserving a “classical” gestural language, imbued with timeless elegance while introducing a contemporary dynamism.

Similarly, “Roman Night” offers a different charm.

Set in the sumptuous setting of the Palazzo Farnese in Rome, Abbagnato embodies Nox, the Roman goddess of the night, who awakens the spirits of the nobility who once walked its corridors and gardens.

Initially presented as a dance film by Dior, in collaboration with Angelin Preljocaj, this piece combines movement and costume with the moving melodies of Franz Schubert’s music.

This ambitious project associates the art of haute couture with the expressiveness of dance, illustrating the unique synergy between Dior’s sartorial mastery, represented by Maria Grazia Chiuri’s creations, and the centuries-old tradition of ballet.

Audiences will be swept into a whirlwind of grace as dancers, adorned in Dior’s iconic ensembles, elevate the music of Glass and Schubert with their poetic and aerial performances.

The event, taking place over three nights, invites the audience to immerse themselves in an experience where fashion meets dance to weave a unique spectacle titled “Danced Night and Roman Night”.

The venue, the Palais des Congrès, promises to offer a night of unforgettable elegance.

For those wishing to witness this exceptional artistic fusion, tickets are available starting at 49€.

Accessibility information and directions to get to the Palais des Congrès, located at Place de la Porte Maillot in Paris 17, are readily available for those interested.

As the City of Light prepares to host this extraordinary conjunction of the arts, “Danced Night and Roman Night” are not just performances but a celebration of creativity, expression, and the enduring charm of classic arts reinvented for the modern era.
