Bottega Veneta unveils new store in London, an ode to the Venetian region
Bottega Veneta, the famous Italian fashion brand, has recently opened a new flagship store on London’s chic Sloane Street, a showcase for the rich culture, sophisticated architectural style and fine craftsmanship of the Veneto region in north-east Italy.
The location is no coincidence.
Nestling at the base of a 1920s red-brick apartment building, the store’s white-coated facade is accented by Doric columns, lending a discreet air of grandeur to elegant Sloane Street.
The new store is the first landmark in achieving Creative Director Matthieu Blazy’s vision of taking over Bottega Veneta’s dreams in 2021.
The Bottega Veneta retail experience at the new store is a real immersion in the heritage of the Veneto region.
All materials, furniture and design techniques embody the spirit of the region, birthplace of the brand.
Upon stepping through the door, guests are welcomed into a wide-open space, subtleely zoned by four large curved wooden volumes, providing visual harmony and fluid layout.
The dark wood structures, with their boldly multifaceted design, shelter shelves showcasing the brand’s emblematic accessories and shoes.
The floor is covered in terrazzo, a reinforced material associated with Venice, whose design was inspired by the movement of water.
Veined louvered stone panels, framed by coppery metal trim, provide additional depth and warmth to the store’s interior, creating a unique atmosphere that is reflected not only in the furniture, but in the entire space”, as the brand points out.
Bottega Veneta, true to its reputation for excellence, has selected woven furniture reminiscent of its famous signature Intrecciato motif.
The luxurious sofas and armchairs, made from leather in shades of green, brown and black, combine with a forest-green carpet for an elegant, welcoming space.
Carved wooden side tables, scattered throughout the store, add a touch of sophistication to the overall look.
The stairs, discreetly situated to one side of the store, are faced in the same stones used for the floors.
Bordered with glass and brass, the staircase echoes the features displayed throughout the store’s interior, thus embodying Bottega Veneta’s philosophy that every detail matters.
Bottega Veneta also announced a passionate collaboration with renowned Italian designer Gaetano Pesce, for the design of their first handbag.
Yet more evidence that Bottega Veneta remains at the forefront of luxury, combining tradition and innovation.
A combination perfectly illustrated by this new London store, where the history, culture and craftsmanship of the Veneto region are portrayed with elegance and modernity.
